Designing optimal power system stabilizer for synchronous generator with and without damper windings

چکیده
This paper aims at effective damping of low-frequency oscillations (LFO) associated with synchronous generators (SG). LFO are excited by system disturbances as sudden change on the load, switching events, and malfunction turbine controller. Poor affects stability generation system, in severe cases may result instability damage to prime-movers. The negative effect automatic voltage regulator (AVR) is studied for SG without damper windings oscillations. Minimizing achieved incorporating power stabilizer (PSS), which adds an additional control signal AVR. Effective design PSS maximize torque while maintaining variables. problem modelled optimization problem, ratio mechanical modes objective function. single-pole placement technique recently developed political optimizer picked determine perfect PI parameters PSS. satisfactory performance proposed appraised testing it against disturbances. obtained mathematical analytical expression makes possible easily eigenvalues step response speed electromagnetic MATLAB environment.
